Averra Packaging frequently asked questions

Do you sell stock parts?

Every part we produce is custom-designed to your exact specifications and made to order. Bring us a detailed engineering drawing of the part you need, a napkin sketch, or even just an idea and we'll work with you to turn it into reality.

What are your lead times?

A custom project typically requires 8-14 weeks. This involves the time to understand your project's needs and goals, design and prototyping, and building production tooling. Production runs can take as little as 1-2 weeks based on raw material availability.

What material options do you offer?

We offer all thermoformable plastics. We are also highly experienced with exotic materials – including coated and multi-layer plastics – and materials featuring up to 100% recycled content. We are a thin-gauge thermoformer which means that we typically work with plastics that are .010" - .080" thick.

Do you build your own tooling, and who owns the tool?

Every tool is built in our on-site machine shop by our highly talented team of designers and machinists. Tooling is customer-owned and maintained by Averra. Tooling cost depends on the overall size and complexity of the tool and the part being made. Our engineering team will work with you to find the most cost-effective tooling solution for your project.

Can you help if I need sample parts quickly?

Yes! Averra does rapid prototyping in house. Send us a CAD file of what you need – any format – and we can produce thermoformed prototype samples in a matter of days.

Is Averra ISO certified?

Yes, we are ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 certified. We are also FDA, USDA, and USDF-registered. These certifications and registrations indicate that our quality system and processes meet the highest standards in the industry.
